Lions and Tigers and...

No, they didn't have bears. But the lions and tigers were awesome! We went to the circus Saturday night at the coast coliseum. Our friends Steven and Amy brought their little boy, Smith, who is Caleb's age. We all rode together and ate dinner at The Dock beforehand. The first couple of pics are from dinner, and the rest are from the circus. We had a lot of fun, and the boys seemed to really enjoy it!

All the men looking out over the water. I thought this was so cute!

Caleb and Smith. Aren't they sweet?

My precious Brayden.

All three of the boys at the circus. Amy got a better pic than this one; I may have to steal hers, haha!

First Day of School/ Rodeo

Here's my cute little Kindergartener standing by my car on his first day of school!

That night we took the boys to a rodeo at the fairgrounds. Brayden participated in the calf scramble. Basically, all of the kids can enter the arena, and they have to chase a calf that has a ribbon tied to his tail. Whoever gets the ribbon, gets a prize! Brayden didn't win, but he had a lot of fun. He did really well for it being his first time!

Feeling Inspired

I woke up this morning having dreamed about decorating for Christmas! Really, you guys, this is what I dream of! Haha. Anyway, with the tropical storm approaching, our weather has cooled off and it's been very windy today, which has contributed to my feelings that fall is just around the corner! I decided that I would pull out a few fall decorations just to get us in the spirit. Thanksgiving is only 3 months away you know! I also had a small breakdown last night when I realized that my due date is 5 days after Thanksgiving. You see, we always buy a real tree, and the tree farms don't usually get the Spruce trees until the day after Thanksgiving. I was panicking that I may be too pregnant or in labor to get my tree! LoL. My best friends have assured me that they will decorate my house for me, which helped to calm my fears. I know this probably seems silly or trivial to many people, but this is my favorite time of year! So I settled for a little fall decorating today. I also ordered the cutest Pilgrim and Indian figurines for our table; I cannot wait until they arrive! I'm feeling so inspired!

Here's my cute little 'Harvest' sign that's on my kitchen table with some pumpkins and gourds around it.

This is our mantle in the living room. I put some sparkly fall leaf garland, my yummy orange candles, and the gourd and pumpkin candles. And don't you love my rustic letter P on the right side? It was a Christmas gift from my best friend, Cydnee. I LOVE it!

Here's our little arrangement at the bottom of the fireplace. It's just sparkly fall leaves with a cute little scarecrow that the boys insisted we buy. I think it turned out cute.

Tonight we are taking the boys to the Ringling Bros circus at the MS Coast Coliseum. I'm really excited! I'm charging my camera right now so I can be sure it's ready for all the pictures to come!

Crunch time!

Ok, the house is progressing way faster than I expected! Sheetrock is hung, and the finishers are mudding as I type.
Which means that I need to pick my paint colors within the next week.
Which means that my pregnant indecisiveness is not good timing right now.

On our last house, I had the colors picked...oh...like when we were still framing. Why can I not make decisions these days!? It has to be the hormones...right??

Along this same vein...the baby still has no name. I can't make life changing decisions like these right now!

The longest post ever.

Sorry I have been nonexistent lately! A lot of things have been going on since I posted last.

Last Wednesday, I went to the doctor for my regular checkup. I am measuring right on track, and my weight and blood pressure were good. Next time I go back for the glucose test...blah. I hate having to wait so long in the doctor's office! At least I am going early in the morning so I can get it over with quickly perhaps. After the doctor's office, Jeffry and I took Brayden to his new school to meet his teacher and see his classroom. I was very nervous, but his teacher is great! We had heard that she was one of the ones you wanted, which is an answer to prayer. I knew that God would place Brayden with the teacher with whom he needed to be. Bray was playing and did not even want to leave when it was time to go!

That Friday, the 8th, was Brayden's first day of Kindergarten! He looked so cute all dressed up. (I will have to add his picture later!) He came home SOO excited about Kindergarten, and he thoroughly enjoyed his first day. I didn't cry when I left him that morning, but I did get a little upset when I remembered that I forgot to tell his teacher where I put his lunch money. I was worried they wouldn't find it, haha. But of course he did.

This past week has been full! Brayden has had homework every night which consists of writing his name and certain letters/numbers on tablet paper. It is HARD work to teach handwriting! And I have discovered that Jeffry and I write our letters differently, so we both tell Brayden different things, LoL. Oh well...we are working on it. Tuesday I got sick with a stomach virus, and I was miserable all day. Wednesday and Thursday weren't much better because I didn't have an appetite, and my stomach was cramping horribly. I just felt like laying on the couch! The bad thing is that Jeffry had to go to Birmingham on Thursday morning for a hardware show, so I was left on my own with two kids! I called the Dr's office Thursday, and they told me some medicine to take and that they thought I was dehydrated. So since then I have been guzzling water like it's going out of style. I'm feeling better, but not quite 100%.

That night, my brother and grandmother came to stay with us. The next day, I helped my brother move in to his dorm room at USM. YAY! He's finally close by! I'm super excited that he will be around to be more involved in our lives. I was really worried that if he went to State or Ole Miss, we would never get to see him because we hardly saw him when he lived in Madison! We got everything situated the way he wanted it, and for a guys' room, it looks really good!

My parents came down Friday night and stayed with us until Sunday. Evan and his best friend, Brent (like my other little brother), came to the house Saturday afternoon. Jeffry, my dad, Brent, Evan, and I all went bowling that night which was a lot of fun!! I bowled really well the first game, but my second game stunk. My grandmother and my mom were amazing and helped me catch up on all of my housework since I had been so sick. Sunday was my sweet grandmother's 70th birthday! After church, we had lunch at the house, and then we went out to eat dinner in Hattiesburg for her birthday.

Ok, I think that finally catches me up! I will post a few pictures later when I get my camera.

A Tribute to Toni

We are giving a tribute to Toni, our babysitter and friend, because she is leaving for college on Friday. I am SO sad, I cannot tell you. But I'm also so excited about her opportunities at State to grow and to develop relationships there! Toni has been our babysitter for the past two years for EVERYTHING! She started babysitting for us once a week every Wednesday night while Jeffry and I were taking a discipleship class at church. Since then we have used her every time we needed a babysitter, which is pretty often with our crazy schedules.

Toni is the person we can call to pick up the boys from daycare in case we are late from a doctor's appointment or decide to eat out for dinner at the last minute. She's the one who is probably more cautious of our children than we are. She is the one who taught Brayden to spell his first and last name. She is the one who made t-shirts for her and I to wear to Bray's baseball games. She is the one who bought canvases and painted color wheels with the boys when another babysitter may have just stuck them in front of a TV. She is the one who let me use her camera when my battery died at Brayden's graduation. She is the one who consistently asked the boys to say their numbers in Spanish. She is the one who bought snacks for Brayden's soccer team when Jeffry forgot to buy some. She is the one who I can call at the last minute to help get me out of a bind. She is a caring person, who loves my boys for who they are! She is also one of my dear friends, and I am so happy and sad that she is moving away. I know that she will ALWAYS have a special place in our hearts. My boys are better people because she has loved them like her own!!

Tone, I can't wait to see what God has in store for you. I love you like my sister, and I truly cannot thank you enough for loving our boys the way you do! I know that God will open doors for you to become successful in school, in work, and in relationships, and I pray that He sends a godly man your way to make you incredibly happy.
We love you so much!!

New House Photos!!

Sorry it has taken so long for me to add pics. For some reason, it takes forever for them to load on my computer at home so I have to add pics at work. Here are a few pics from the new house!

This is the front of the house. We used a light green hardiplank siding, galvalume metal roofing, and Old Chicago brick. I really love how it looks like and old farmhouse. It definitely fits the land! I love the big porch...now I just need some beautiful rocking chairs!!

This is the right side of the house. The little porch is where we will come in all the time. We aren't building a garage/carport yet, but will eventually. Also, in the next few years, we will add our "master cottage" which will be our bedroom, bathroom, HUGE closet!, craft room, etc. I can't wait!

This is the left side of the house, which everyone thinks is the front because of the French doors. However, this porch will be enclosed for a screened in porch. I don't know if you can tell but we have an outdoor fireplace on that porch. I think it's going to be great! I'm so ready to move out here!

These are two of our favorite calves! The cream colored one is Genesis...she was the first calf born on the farm after we bought the land and the cows. Her name is so fitting. The black and white one is Oreo. They are best buds...always together!

I need a hobby

I don't know why I feel this way, but I really do! In my few spare moments of free time when I just do NOT want to watch television or clean my house (although it always needs cleaning!), I want something to do with myself! Something I can just sit down and enjoy that doesn't involve oodles of energy or thought. Haha. Normally, I scrapbook, but I haven't done that in ages because it requires TONS of paraphanalia spread out on the table. And did I mention we're trying to sell our house? Therefore, scrapbooking has gone by the wayside. I'm so behind.

Since I'm moving to the country maybe I should learn something useful like churning butter. Or maybe you guys should give me some suggestions so I don't have to resort to such insanity. :)

Back to School!

I can't believe this week is here. Brayden has Kindergarten orientation on Wednesday, and his first day of school is Friday! It's obviously a bittersweet time; I know he is so ready and capable for school, but at the same time I am a little shocked that he is old enough to be attending real school! We have all of his supplies together including his new red backpack which he loves. :)

On Friday, Jeffry and I took the boys along with my brother to "float the creek". (I didn't know that term until I moved to Wiggins, but basically it just means canoeing.) We left around 9 that morning and finished up about 1. Jeffry and I were in a canoe with Caleb in the middle, and Evan and Brayden were in another canoe. We packed a picnic lunch and had a really great time just playing in the water and spending time together. I told Jeffry that we needed to make it our annual back to school family outing! Thankfully, I didn't see any snakes or other random wildlife, and the creek was up so I didn't have to paddle too much, haha. I may live in Wiggins now, but I'm definitely not a country girl!

So you may have noticed that I have a new layout!! I got it from leelou blog designs. I will link her site tomorrow; for some reason it's not working right now. Hope you like it!!

In baby news, we still haven't picked a name. Thanks to everyone who has given suggestions! We are talking about possibilities! My next appointment is Wednesday, but I'm pretty sure it's nothing super exciting. The baby is moving SO much these days, especially around 10 at night! Haha...I hope that's not a sign.....
