Destin Women's Retreat

Two of my best friends and I went to Destin for a women's retreat a couple of weekends ago. It was so great! The main draw for me was that Kari Jobe was leading worship. If you haven't heard of you, you MUST go visit myspace.com/karijobe or www.karijobe.com. Oh, and go by the new album by Gateway Worship; she's on there. :) Love her. The retreat itself was good, but we really just enjoyed being with each other and spending quality time together. It's a lot different with no husbands or kids around! Haha. Anyway, here are a few pics from that weekend.

Life Changes

It's been about two weeks since I last posted! Sorry guys. We've had a lot going on though! I went to Destin with two of my girlfriends to a women's retreat that was incredible. I'll post on that later though. Our new house at the farm is framed up, and we've had tons of people there working every day! Now we are just praying for the right buyer for our house on the golf course.

We have had quite an eventful weekend this weekend! It started Thursday night with Brayden's K4 graduation. My parents, brother, aunt, cousins, and Jeffry's mom and dad came with us to see Brayden graduate from First Baptist Wiggins K4 program. It was the cutest! They sang several songs, quoted Bible verses, and received their diplomas. I was so emotional that morning after I dropped him off at school. I can't believe he's already finished with preschool and ready for REAL school!

Friday, we drove up to Madison to see my baby brother graduate from Jackson Academy. The entire family (including grandparents, aunts, cousins, etc.) ate dinner at The Haute Pig beforehand. It was so yummy. After that we headed to Christ United in Jackson to see Evan graduate. It was kinda surreal...I can't believe my brother is out of highschool. The great thing is that he has decided to go to USM so he'll only be 30 minutes away from us now! I can't wait!

Today was Caleb's 3rd birthday! I woke up and made chocolate chip pancakes for him in the shape of a 3. We put candles on them and let him blow them out. He loved it! He was super excited because he got to move up to a new Sunday school class at church. Our church is small right now, so the 3-6 year olds are in a class together...which means he and Brayden are in the same class for a while. It was great; he's so glad to be out of nursery! For lunch, we met Jeffry's mom and dad at a local restaurant and then came back to the house for cake and presents. Tonight we took him to a Mexican restaurant where they gave him a sombrero and sang to him! His face was precious!!

In other news, we are expecting another baby! This is number three! My due date is December 2 (my good friend Kimmie's bday!), so I'm about 12 weeks along. I had a doctor's appointment Thursday morning, and we heard the heartbeat! Everything seems fine; I've been pretty nauseated, which they say is a good sign. I had an ultrasound about a month ago, and the baby was so tiny! Just a little speck. It's amazing how God works! I think the baby is about and inch and a half long right now. Caleb wanted to know if the baby was just "swimming around" in my tummy, haha. I guess so! Anyway, just wanted to update you guys. Please keep us in your prayers!

Sterilization times seven.

Seven. That's how many days at least one member of my family has been sick. It started last Saturday night when Caleb-almost 3yr- woke up around midnight with a fever. His fever lasted all day Sunday, so Monday I took him to see the doctor. (Which is a whole other issue because our pediatrician just recently up and left town. Boo.) He had an ear infection and sore throat. After a couple doses of his medicine, he began to feel ten times better.
Monday night. Jeffry has been assigned jury duty for the month of April, and we have been calling every night to see if he has to report. Of course, they wait until the end of the month to choose him. Ugh.
On to Tuesday. Brayden-5yr- comes in my room that morning crying about how he feels like he's going to throw up and his head hurts. This is completely out of character for him, so I tend to believe his poor little cries. I feel his forehead, and it's obvious that he now has a fever. Caleb had been fever-free for 24 hours, so he was safe to go to daycare. Brayden and I packed up his sleeping bag and some toys, and he came to work with me for the day. You could tell when the Motrin wore off because he would all of a sudden transform from my happy child to a poor pitiful little boy who just wanted to lay on a sleeping bag. It was sad. You may think that taking him to work instead of keeping him at home was a little insensitive. Well I guess that is what happens sometimes when you own your own business and your husband is a juror that day. Ha.
Wednesday. Brayden was still running fever so no school once again. Jeffry was chosen for duty; he had to stay all day yesterday and report back today. Caleb is well, thank the Lord.
Thursday. Everyone is fever free! Hallelujah! Which was important because it was the first of the month and I had to get customer statements printed and sent out in the mail. Oh but don't get too excited...the daycare called me at 3 saying Caleb had just thrown up all over himself. Nice. Off I go to save my poor little child (who is on antibiotics so this is obviously a VIRUS) once again. I began to wonder if I would ever work a full day this week. He threw up a few more times once I got home, and I had to cancel the Bible study that usually meets at my house on Thursday nights. I mean, apparently we have something going on in our house, ha. I promise I've been Lysol-ing everything!
Friday morning. Hooray! Caleb made it through the night and is a new child this morning. We stay at the house for a while and then Toni, our babysitter, comes to stay with him at 11 so I can go to work. I had to work out front at the sales counter because we had one employee out and Jeffry was gone to buy a new delivery truck.
Friday afternoon. Jeffry returns from purchasing the truck and has a miserable headache that he hasn't been able to get rid of since this morning. And then he gets a fever and goes home. LORD help me!
Saturday. Jeffry still has the headache. And the fever. And now nausea.
I mean, what am I doing wrong here? I promise I'm cleaning and sterilizing! But please, don't come to my house. We're under quarantine for now.
